A-State Sixth After First Round of Sun Belt Conference Championship

POINT CLEAR, Ala. (4/14/25) – Opening play at the 2025 Sun Belt Conference Women's Golf Championship, the Arkansas State women's golf team is sixth after the first round played at Lakewood Golf Club's Dogwood Course.

A-State turned in a 10-over par 298 in the opening round and is two strokes back of ULM for fourth place and a spot in the match play semifinals Thursday. Georgia Southern leads the field at 1-under par 287 followed by South Alabama (+2) and Coastal Carolina (+3) to round out the top three. The Red Wolves trail Troy (+9) by one stroke for fifth while Southern Miss (+11), Texas State (+12), Georgia State (+12), James Madison (+13), Old Dominion (+16), Marshall (+18) and App State (+19) complete the field.

Madison Tenore, Morgan Beaulieu and Olivia Coit each turned in a 2-over par 74 and are tied for 19th individually to lead A-State. Tenore eagled the first for one of three eagles on the course Monday. Freshman Caroline Hughes totaled 4-over par 76 to rank 34th while Anne-Lea Lavoie carded a 6-over par 78 for 49th.

Tee times for the second round begin at 8 a.m. off No. 1 and No. 10 tees. Live coverage begins at 10:30 a.m. on ESPN+ and live scoring is available on Scoreboard by Clippd.
