JONESBORO, Ark. (4/30/25) – Arkansas State men's basketball head coach Ryan Pannone announced Wednesday the signing of transfer Chudi Dioramma to the 2025-26 squad.
Dioramma (pronounced "Dee-o-ROM-a") joins the Red Wolves after spending the last two seasons at Sacramento State, redshirting in 2023-24 before taking the court for the Hornets this past season. A native of London, England, but born in Budapest, Hungary, Dioramma was one of three Hornets to play in all 32 games and shot 62 percent from the field while averaging 5.7 points, 3.7 rebounds and 0.7 blocks per game.
"Chudi – a 6-10 forward – is a skilled big guy that can handle the ball, pass, and we think he can really develop as a shooter," Pannone said. "We think he's incredibly undervalued within the portal and we're incredibly excited to get him. We think his upside is really high, and the way that we're going to play, we play a lot through the bigs, so being able to have skilled passers and processors is really important to us in the way that we want to flow offensively. He's a tremendous human being. I think our fans and our people are going to love who he is as a person, and the personality he brings to the program, which he has coined as the 'Chudi Effect.' We're excited overall for everything that he can give us on the floor and off the floor, and bring to this program and community."
In conference play, Dioramma raised his scoring average to 6.7 points. Dioramma scored in double figures six times, including a 9-for-9, 19-point effort at Idaho. He had double-digit rebound performances twice, including a double-double of 14 points, 10 rebounds against Stanislaus State, as well as 10 rebounds in 17 minutes against NCAA Tournament participant Omaha. Dioramma also boasted 40-minute averages of 18.2 points and 11.7 rebounds, including 4.1 on the offensive glass.
Prior to beginning his collegiate career, Dioramma played two seasons at Haringey Sixth Form in London, averaging over 26 points and 20 rebounds per game and being named First Team All-Academy Basketball League (ABL) as a senior. As a junior, he averaged 29.5 points and 18 rebounds, being named the ABL London Conference MVP, Under-17 ABL Player of the Year and First Team All-ABL.
Not only did he lead his teams to league championships all four years of high school, spending his first two years of high school at St. Thomas More School, but he was also recipient of the Jack Petchy Achievement Award, which recognizes young people ages 11-25 across London and Essex who "have gone above and beyond what might be expected of them." In addition to being a standout on the hardwood, Dioramma also played rugby, soccer, badminton and volleyball.
Dioramma is now the fifth signing for Pannone's first season leading the Red Wolves, joining Jalen Hampton (Missouri State transfer), Chandler Jackson (Florida State), Matt Hayman (Stephen F. Austin) and TJ Caldwell (Ole Miss).
