MEMPHIS, Tenn. (9/14/25) – Arkansas State women's tennis concluded competition at the Memphis Invite, claiming two matches against 2024-25 American Conference champion Memphis to finish the event with 18 victories.
"Our first tournament of this fall was a true test of who we are as a team, starting a new year," sophomore
Hanmare McAslin said. "We really came out strong on days one and two – fighting hard, playing with energy, and showing what we are capable of as a team."

Hanmare McAslin claimed the final doubles match of the day in a 6-4 decision. McAslin highlighted singles competition, claiming the first set 7-5 before recording a clean 6-0 sweep in the next to secure a win and finish the weekend 3-0 in singles and 2-1 in doubles.
"Today did not go our way, but we learned a lot as a team and we identified the areas we need to work on to get better for the rest of our fall season, and eventually working towards the spring season," McAslin said. "The losses teach us more than wins – and this Red Wolves tennis family is only getting started. We have a special group of girls and we can't wait to build upon this weekend."
A-State won six doubles and 12 singles for a total of 18 on the weekend.
