ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (9/20/25) – The Arkansas State men's golf team finished 11th among 18 tams at the William H. Tucker Invitational played at the University of New Mexico Championship Course.
A-State turned in a final round 4-over par 292 to tie North Texas for 11th with a 54-hole total of 1-over par 865. Last season, the Red Wolves shot 22-over par 887 in the same tournament. Long Beach State took the team honors at 23-under par with New Mexico (-18), Colorado (-17), USC (-17) and UTEP (-12) completing the top five.
Jake Wallis paced the Red Wolves finishing tied for 15th at 4-under par 212 following a final round 1-over par 73.
Thomas Schmidt was the lone A-State golfer under par Saturday at 1-under par 71 to close out the event at 2-under par 214 and tied for 24th.
Chris Somerfield and
Jake Lile tied for 71st at 5-over par 221 and
Milan Reed (+8) tied for 82nd. Playing as an individual,
Viggo Hed (+10) tied for 88th.
The Red Wolves return to action Sept. 29-30 in Erie, Colo., at the Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational. The annual Bubba Barnett Intercollegiate follows Oct. 6-7 at RidgePointe Country Club in Jonesboro.
