Daedrianna Cail and
Haley Glunz were named Sun Belt Conference Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week on Tuesday following standout performances at the Razorback Invitational on Sept. 18-20.
Cail earned offensive honors by tallying 39 kills and two service aces on a .429 hitting percentage, averaging 3.25 per set. The Marion, Ark., native hit above .400 in all three matches and matched a career high of 17 kills in a 3-1 victory over North Dakota State on Sept. 18.
She posted her second career double-double against the Salukis one day later, totaling 11 kills and 10.0 total blocks. Cail concluded the week with 11 kills on a .400 percentage to help A-State complete a sweep of the field with a win over Arkansas.
Glunz totaled 22.0 total blocks over three matches, recording three solo blocks and 19 block assists for an average of 1.83 per set. She established a new career high in total blocks against the Razorbacks, tallying 12 en route to a 3-1 victory over the Razorbacks.
Cail and Glunz are the third Red Wolves duo to be named SBC Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week on the same day. The last time it occurred was on November 3, 2020, when Madison Brown earned offensive honors and Tatum Ticknor earned defensive honors.
The last Red Wolf to receive both awards on the same day was Macey Putt on September 14, 2021.
