JONESBORO, Ark. (3/12/26) – Arkansas State volleyball head coach Brian Gerwig announced Thursday the addition of assistant coach Collin Shields to the coaching staff ahead of the 2026 season.
 
Shields joins the program following three seasons at Louisville, where he served as a graduate manager. The Channahon, Illinois, native assisted in scouting operations, on-court training and statistical analysis during his time with the Cardinals, helping guide the team to a national best 3.09 blocks per set in 2024.
 
Louisville made an appearance in the Elite 8 during the 2023 campaign and followed with a national championship appearance in 2024. Last season, the Cardinals made it back to the Sweet Sixteen.
