1/12/2026 4:01:00 PM

JONESBORO, Ark. (1/12/26) – Arkansas State football head coach Butch Jones announced Monday that Kenny Hill has been named running backs coach.

Hill spent the last two seasons at Incarnate Word as co-offensive coordinator and running backs coach. Before his stint at Incarnate Word, Hill was an offensive quality control coach at Cal for two seasons and served in multiple roles at TCU from 2018-21.

"We are excited to welcome Kenny and his wife, Blair, and sons Hendrix and Holton, to the A-State Football family," said Jones. "Coach Hill is an outstanding teacher and effective communicator that brings the attention to detail and relentless work ethic we strive for as we continue to develop our program."

Over his two seasons at UIW, Hill's offense produced a Southland Conference Offensive Player of the Year and 12 All-Southland Conference picks, seven first team and five second team. This past season, the offense averaged 392.8 yards per game, including 147.2 on the ground. In 2024, Hill helped the Cardinals to a Southland Conference Championship and trip to the NCAA FCS Quarterfinals, with the offense ranking eighth nationally in total yards (442.5). Quarterback Zach Calzada was the Southland Conference Player of the Year tossing 35 touchdown passes and threw for 3,791 yards.

Prior to his time at Incarnate Word, Hill spent two seasons at Cal in an offensive quality control role. Hill helped the Bears to a 2023 Independence Bowl appearance.

After concluding a standout 2017 senior season as TCU's starting quarterback, in which he led the Horned Frogs to an 11-3 record, Big 12 Championship Game appearance and No. 9 final ranking, Hill remained with the Horned Frogs. He served as a student assistant and then graduate assistant, before becoming an offensive analyst in 2020 and quarterbacks coach in 2021.
