Allen Scores 20 and Leads A-State to 107-67 win over South Alabama

MOBILE, Ala. (1/8/26) – Five Red Wolves hit double digits, led by D'Arrah Allen's 20 point performance as Arkansas State (14-3, 5-0 SBC) won it's 12th game in a row, beating South Alabama (8-7, 1-4 SBC) 107-67 Thursday evening in the Mitchell Center.
The 12-game win streak is the fourth longest in program history and surpasses last season's 11 game streak that stretched from January 2, 2025, through February 5, 2025. The last time A-State recorded a win streak of 12-plus games was in 2015-16, when the program won 18 consecutive games.
Thursday's 107 points is tied for the seventh-most scored by an A-State team.
Arkansas State shot at a 46-percent rate (37-of-81) from the floor, the second highest of the season, and 35 percent (15-of-43) from three-point range. South Alabama hit 43 percent of their shots (23-of-53) but were limited to a 28-percent clip (5-of-18) from the beyond the arc.
Bella Weary (18), Mimi McCollister (13), Crislyn Rose (12) and Zion Shannon (10) also hit double digits on the scoreboard, with Weary, Allen, Rose, and Mia Tarver netting multiple threes.
A-State opened the game with back-to-back threes from Tarver and Marlie Dickerson. A fast 10-point lead was established with the help of another pair of threes from Allen and McCollister, but South gathered a response of their own before the Red Wolves closed out the quarter with a 7-0 run for the 29-18 lead.
The hot streak continued into the next quarter with another 7-0 run. Later in the period, a staggering 14-0 run was built on three triples in a row from three different Red Wolves. A-State pushed the advantage to as high as 37 before halftime thanks to another 10-0 stretch, and entered intermission up 69-35.
Rose landed a pair of threes in the third quarter to spearhead the Red Wolves' 22-point offensive attack in the period, and held a 91-50 lead with 10 minutes remaining. Aniyah Ruddock hit two threes in the fourth as A-State kept pace with the Jags before settling on a 40-point margin as the clock hit 0:00.
