JONESBORO, Ark. (2/21/26) – Arkansas State (4-2, 0-0 SBC) hit four home runs on Eastern Illinois (4-2, 0-0 OVC) Saturday afternoon to propel the Red Wolves to the 11-3 victory and tie the weekend series at Slayton Family Field at Tomlinson Stadium.

A quiet first inning, Arkansas State notched the first runs of the game with discipline at the plate and infield action. With bases loaded, a groundout scored one, immediately followed by a single to the outfield from Joey McLauglin III to score another. An infield groundout let another runner step on home before the end of the inning, with A-State up 3-0.

Engskov rocked a pitch in the bottom of the third for a solo shot to add a fourth run. Eastern Illinois responded in kind with a solo homer at the top of the fourth, then added another run with an RBI-walk from loaded bases. Another solo home run for the panthers drew them back within one run, but it didn't last.

Jack Nelson was on the mound for the first 4.0 innings, relenting four hits for two runs and four strikeouts.
The bottom of the fifth was filled with action.
Lane Walton launched his fourth home run of the season, this one for two runs, followed up by an Engskov double, who then jogged the next two bases after
Evan Griffis cleared the ballpark with a homer of his own. The Red Wolves commended the game, up 8-3 heading into the final four frames.

The sixth inning moved quickly, with only six total batters stepping up to the plate. The seventh inning was all A-State, with Engskov scoring two runs with a homer to deep left field, and a triple from Griffis was the setup for an RBI-groundout the next at bat.

Jelle van der Lelie earned the win on 2.0 innings, striking out three along the way with one hit and one run allowed.
Collin Maloney held down the final three innings, facing the minimum number of batters and sitting down three batters on strikeouts.
