FORT MYERS, Fla. (2/21/26) – The Arkansas State women's tennis team extended its win streak to four matches with a 4-1 win over Mercer Saturday at the Florida Gulf Coast Tennis Complex.
A-State (4-3) overcame a setback in the doubles point for the victory. Mercer (6-4) won 6-2 on court two over the pair of
Helena Bueno and
Anna Grigoreva and clinched the doubles tally with a 6-4 win on court three against
Hanmare McAslin and
Sarah Millard.
Lilly Cvanciger and
Carla Muro Castellvi led 5-4 on court one when the point was clinched.
Cvanciger evened the match at 1-1 with a 6-0, 6-3 win over Tea Zivic on court two. Muro Castellvi followed with a 6-3, 6-2 win on court four against Ines Homberg and
Meghna Arun Kumar extened the Red Wolves lead to 3-1 with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Valentine Talaki on court six. Bueno clinched the match with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Jelena Gojkovic on court five. Grigoreva trailed 6-1, 3-3 on court one while McAslin was tied 3-6, 6-3 on court three when the match was clinched.
A-State concludes the trip to Fort Meyers, Fla., taking on Florida Gulf Coast (7-2) Sunday with first serve scheduled for 8:30 a.m. (CT).
