Box Score FORT MYERS, Fla. (2/22/26) – A four match win streak for the Arkansas State women's tennis team ended Sunday morning in a 4-1 setback at FGCU.
A-State (4-4) dropped the doubles point to face an early 1-0 deficit. FGCU (8-2) earned a 6-4 decision on court three against the pair of
Hanmare McAslin and
Sarah Millard and clinched the doubles point with a 6-3 win on court one against
Lilly Cvanciger and
Carla Muro Castellvi.
Helena Bueno and
Anna Grigoreva led 5-4 on court two when the point was decided.
Muro Castellvi won due to an injury in her match against Cecilie Maeland with the match 2-2 in the first set. FGCU regained the lead with Sabrina Jaramillo picking up a 6-4, 6-2 win over
Sarah Millard on court six. A-State faced a 3-1 deficit following Ashley Matz defeat of
Meghna Arun Kumar 6-4, 6-3 on court five. The Eagles clinched the match with Nora Svensson picking up a 7-5, 6-1 decision over
Lilly Cvanciger on court two. Grigoreva trailed 3-6, 3-4 on court one and Bueno was locked in a 4-6, 5-5 battle on court four.
The Red Wolves stay on the road and take on Oral Roberts (Feb. 28) and Tulsa (March 1) next week.
