JONESBORO, Ark. (2/5/26) – Arkansas State women's tennis returns to action this weekend with matches against BYU and Memphis.
A-State (0-2) opens the weekend facing BYU (5-1) Friday at noon and Memphis (0-2) on Sunday with first serve at 1:30 p.m. Both matches will be played at the Leftwich Tennis Center.
"These are two challenging matches but huge opportunities as well," A-State head coach
Sujay Lama said. "I would like to see improvement in the mental aspects of the game. Our ability to deal with adversity and maintain calm intensity will be important this weekend."
Due to winter weather impacts, A-State has not played since a 4-2 setback to North Alabama back on Jan. 19. Freshmen
Meghna Arun Kumar and
Helena Bueno earned singles victories in the contest.
The Red Wolves home opener is Friday, February 13, with a 10:00 a.m. contest at Jonesboro Country Club against Tennessee State. The first 50 fans receive a free t-shirt and free pizza and Lamanade will be available.
