INDIAN WELLS, Calif. (3/13/26) – The Arkansas State women's tennis team fell 4-0 against No. 28 Wichita State Friday at Sunrise Country Club.
A-State (7-6) battled but came up short in the doubles point as Wichita State (13-3) grabbed the early advantage. At court one,
Anna Grigoreva and
Carla Muro Castellvi came up just short 6-4.
Hanmare McAslin and
Helena Bueno were downed 6-1 on court two but
Lilly Cvanciger and
Sarah Millard held a 5-4 lead on court three when the point was clinched.
No. 124 Xin Tong Wang
Anna Grigoreva 6-4, 6-1 on court one to give the Shockers a 2-0 advantage. The deficit swelled to 3-0 with Bueno falling 6-4, 6-4 on court three against Theodora Chantava. Wichita State clinched the match with Giorgia Roselli topping Cvanciger 6-2, 6-4 on court two. McAslin led Kristina Kudryavtseva 7-6, 5-0 on court four when the match was clinched while
Meghna Arun Kumar trailed 6-3, 4-3 on court five and Muro Castellvi trailed 4-6, 4-3 on court six.
The Red Wolves return to action March 20 at Georgia Southern.
