JONESBORO, Ark. (4/12/26) – The Arkansas State women's tennis closed its regular season slate with a 4-1 win over Texas State on senior day Sunday at the A-State Tennis Courts.
A-State moved to 12-8 on the season marking the second consecutive season with 12 wins. It is the first time the Red Wolves have back-to-back seasons with 12 or more wins since the 2008 and 2009 seasons.
The Red Wolves won the doubles point and improved to 9-0 this season win winning the doubles marker.
Lilly Cvanciger and
Carla Muro Castellvi cruised to a 6-1 win on court one, but Texas State (12-7) evened the tally with a 6-3 win over
Anna Grigoreva and
Sarah Millard on court two.
Hanmare McAslin and
Helena Bueno rallied past the Bobcats duo on court three to a 7-5 victory to clinch the doubles point.
Following her senior day recognition, Millard made it 2-0 with an impressive 6-1, 6-0 win over Anastas Radovanovic on court six for her 39th career singles win.Charlotte Roesch topped
Meghna Arun Kumar 6-1, 6-2 on court four to make the score 2-1, but Grigoreva finished off a 6-3, 6-1 win on court one against Emily Niers to put the Red Wolves closer to victory. Muro Castellvi clinched the match with 6-4, 6-1 win over Stoney Crooks on court five. Cvanciger was tied 6-2, 3-6 on court two while McAslin led 6-3, 3-4 on court three when the match was clinched.
The 2026 Sun Belt Conference Women's Tennis Championship begins Wednesday, April 22, and concludes Sunday, April 26, at the Rome Tennis Center in Rome, Ga. Seeds for the tournament will be announced at a later date.
