ROME, Ga. (4/23/26) – Arkansas State women's tennis opens play at the Sun Belt Conference Tournament Friday, taking on Texas State at the Rome Tennis Center in Rome, Ga.

A-State (12-8) is seeded fourth in the 13-team field, its highest seed since being No. 3 in 1999. Texas State (14-7), the No. 5 seed, defeated 12th-seeded Georgia Southern 4-1 Thursday to advance to the quarterfinal versus the Red Wolves.

The match will be streamed live on ESPN+.

The Red Wolves won four of their last five matches to close out the regular season, including a 4-1 win over Texas State in the regular season finale back on April 12. A-State has back-to-back 12 win seasons for the first time since the 2008-09 seasons that had a combined 25 wins. Sujay Lama's 33 wins through his first three-plus seasons are the most wins by an A-State tennis coach in their first three seasons, passing Marcia Williams' total of 23 from 1981-83. A-State's 33 wins over the last three seasons, since the start of the 2023 campaign, are the most since a stretch of 34 wins from 2007-09.
