A-State Falls in Season-Opening Test at No. 8 Texas A&M, 3-0

JONESBORO, Ark. (8/28/26) – Arkansas State volleyball fell in a 3-0 (15-25, 16-25, 18-25) decision against defending national champion No. 8 Texas A&M on Friday night inside Reed Arena.

Addison Collum led the team with nine kills and Haley Glunz tallied a team-high of three total blocks in the contest. Erin Madigan also led the team with 19 assists and 10 digs to secure her 35th career double-double.

Set 1
The Aggies held a 17-5 advantage before Parker Stearns landed a kill and sparked a 7-1 run for the Red Wolves. The deficit was cut to six rallies before three consecutive points fell in the opposition's favor.

Collum and Madigan landed kills while a service error in-between made the score 22-15, but Texas A&M took the opening set after posting two kills and a block.

Set 2
An attack error paired with a solo block from Madigan pushed the Scarlet & Black ahead 5-3, but the Aggies would respond by taking six of the next seven rallies. Despite the run being stalled by a service error, A-State would enter the media timeout trailing 15-10.

The deficit reached seven rallies before back-to-back kills from Madigan and Kaitlin Whitlock narrowed the gap to 18-13. Texas A&M surged beyond that point and captured the second set via a 25-16 decision.

Set 3
A kill by Na'Khaela Rogers closed the gap to 9-8 before the opposition landed three consecutive kills in what would become a 5-0 run. The Aggies countered back-to-back kills from Collum and regained their momentum en route to an 18-11 lead.

Whitlock's kill paired with a service ace from Collum and a bad set by the opposition narrowed the score to 18-14, but Texas A&M claimed seven of the final 11 rallies to end the match.
