BOULDER, Colo. (9/30/26) –
Henry Styles carded a 15-under par 195 to claim individual medalist honors leading the Arkansas State to the team title at the Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational at Boulder Country Club.
Styles 15-under 195 is the second-lowest 54-hole total in program history and the seventh-lowest score relative to par. Dating back to his final round in New Mexico's William H. Tucker Invitational, Styles played 53 consecutive holes without a bogey prior to a blemish on the eighth hole Wednesday. Styles turned in a final round 2-under par 68, his ninth consecutive par or better round to start the season.
Jake Wallis aided the Red Wolves surge to the team title with a 4-under 66 Wednesday. Wallis carded three birdies over the final five holes to finish second individually at 9-under 201. Playing as an individual,
Cole Kirby tied for 22nd at 1-under 209.
Jake Lile earned a tie for 25th at even-par 210 while
Viggo Hed birdied the last two holes to tie for 30th at 1-over 211.
Milan Reed tied for 46th at 4-over par 214 but his birdies on two of the last three holes helped the Red Wolves pull ahead of of Long Beach State for the team title.
A-State became the first team other than host Colorado to win back-to-back team titles in the 16-year history of the Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational. The Red Wolves totaled 27-under 813, the lowest 54-hole total in program history. A-State edged Long Beach State (-20) by seven strokes while Colorado (-15), San Diego (-10), Denver (-7), Kansas City (-1), Utah (+2), Nevada (+10), Pacific (+12), Boise State (+14) UTEP (+14) completed the top 10 and ties.
The Red Wolves host their annual Bubba Barnett Intercollegiate Oct. 12-13 at RidgePointe Country Club in Jonesboro.
