Set 1
The Red Wolves posted a .750 attack percentage alongside six kills and two blocks over the first 20 rallies to claim a 14-6 lead. The early surge proved to be too much for American, as back-to-back kills from Stearns and Lewis secured a 25-16 decision.

Set 2
The Scarlet & Black quickly reversed a 3-1 deficit by winning five consecutive rallies, but the opposition remained in close pursuit of the lead. The Eagles narrowed the gap to one point multiple times before a 4-0 run capped by a solo block from Whitlock and block assists by Bush and Addison Collum opened a 16-11 lead.

American attempted to rally, but after closing the gap to 21-18, a service error and attack error paired with two kills from Bush shut the door and moved A-State ahead in the match by two sets.

Set 3
One point separated both teams at the technical timeout as the Red Wolves trailed 15-14. Kills from Lewis and Whitlock sparked a 5-0 run that created a 20-18 advantage, but the Eagles countered with three consecutive points to force another lead change.

The Scarlet & Black tied the set at 23-23, but a pair of kills fell in American's favor and forced the match into a fourth set.

Set 4
Kills from Bush and Maloney capped a 7-0 run that pushed A-State ahead 14-9 and resulted in a five-point lead at the technical timeout. The lead continued to grow once both teams returned to the floor, as back-to-back service aces from Maloney highlighted a stretch of four consecutive rally wins.
