All-WAC Second Team pick after averaging a team-high 16.2 points and 6.0 rebounds along with 2.3 assists and 1.4 steals per game for Tarleton State in 23 games played … His 16.2 points per game marked the best scoring average in Tarleton's D1 era … Established a single-game NCAA Division I record for free throw attempts with 28 against Belmont at the Paradise Jam … He dropped a season-best 30 points and nine rebounds against Drake in the championship game of the Paradise Jam … Earned a spot on the Paradise Jam All-Tournament Team, averaging 25.7 points and 7.7 rebounds on 20-of-37 (.541) shooting in games against Belmont, Boston College and Drake … Posted seven 20-point games and also had 18 double-digit scoring performances and 15 multi-assist outings … Collected a double-double of 30 points and 11 rebounds in the College Basketball Invitational against Radford … In three postseason games spanning the WAC Tournament and CBI, averaged 19.3 points, 9.0 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 2.3 steals while shooting 92.9 percent (26-28) at the free throw line.

Started all 31 games for the Texans and averaged 12.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 0.9 steals in 31.1 minutes per game … Ranked second on the team in rebounds and was third in scoring … Posted 20 or more points seven times and scored 10-plus in 20 outings … Ended the year scoring double figures in the last six games, averaging 17.3 points in that stretch … In WAC play, averaged 16.3 points per game.
2020-21 | AT TARLETON STATE
Appeared in all 20 games as a freshman, making 16 starts … Led all WAC first-year players in scoring (8.2 PPG) and was named WAC Freshman of the Year … Finished second on the team in rebounds (5.4) and was first in blocks (0.6) … Recorded three double-doubles on the year, including a 20-point, 13-rebound performance against Cal Baptist (Jan. 16).

Three-year letterwinner at Searcy High School, where he is the program's all-time leading scorer with 1,603 points … Two-time All-State and two-time All-Conference selection … As a senior, averaged 24 points, including a 5A East Region-best 27 points per game in conference play with 11 rebounds, three assists and two blocks.
PERSONAL
Son of Jennifer and Freddy Hicks … His father, Freddy Hicks Sr., played from 1995-99 for A-State and totaled 702 points (6.7) and 514 rebounds (4.9) in 105 games played, along with a program-record 204 career blocked shots … Hicks Sr. was a member of the 1998-99 team that is the only A-State squad to advance to the NCAA Tournament.
