Tate Behne joined Steve Roberts in January, 2002 and coaches tight ends for ASU. In addition, he serves as the football camp coordinator and prop program director. He had just finished his second year on the staff at Northwestern State and coached three years with Roberts at Southern Arkansas University prior to that as a defensive assistant and running backs coach. During his time at SAU, the Muleriders finished with a cumulative record of 26-5 and helped the 1998 and 1999 teams to record-setting seasons on defense. A defensive captain at Northeastern (Okla.) State in Tahlequah, he played linebacker from 1993-96. Behne graduated from the school in 1997 with a bachelor’s degree in secondary education and earned his master’s degree in counseling and development at Southern Arkansas. He was born in Guymon, Okla., Dec. 11, 1973, and graduated from Guymon High School in 1992. He enjoys cooking, reading, exercising and outdoor activities. Tate married Cindy Skaggs of Irving, Tex., in March, 2005.
