Alex Harris

Alex Harris is entering his second season on the Arkansas State men's basketball staff as assistant coach for player development, having been hired by A-State head coach Bryan Hodgson on June 30, 2023. 

Harris joined the Red Wolves after serving as the associate head coach for Word of God Christian Academy (North Carolina) during the 2022-23 season. Harris helped the squad to a 31-11 record and an appearance in the John Wall Holiday Invitational championship game. He oversaw the guards and was responsible for individual workouts for all players. Six players have gone on to Division I including Freddie Dillone (Tennessee), Isaiah Coleman (Seton Hall), Mayar Wol (College of Charleston), Davin Cosby (Alabama), Dra Gibbs Lawnhorn (Illinois), Mekhi Grant (Morehead State).

Harris was an assistant coach for Team Loaded NC 17u on the Adidas 3 Stripe Select basketball circuit and was the head coach of the 17u Team Loaded AAU program. During the 2021-22 season, Harris was an assistant coach for EE Smith High School in Fayetteville, N.C. The squad finished with an 18-7 record, a 12-game improvement from the 2020 season, winning a conference title and making the state playoffs for the first time in 10 years.  Harris was assistant coach at Jack Britt High School in Fayetteville, N.C., from 2018-21 where he organized practice and game plans.

Harris graduated from Fayetteville State in 2021 with a bachelor's degree in health and physical education.
