Jordan Coomes is entering her fourth season on staff at Arkansas State in 2025, having joined head coach Brian Gerwig’s staff ahead of the 2022 campaign. She came to Jonesboro after one season at Jacksonville State, following a standout playing career at Radford University.

Since arriving at A-State, Coomes has contributed to the program’s resurgence. In 2024, the Red Wolves captured the Sun Belt Conference regular-season championship, their first since 2016. The year prior, she worked closely with freshman setter Erin Madigan, who recorded 1,093 assists—the eighth-most in program history and third-most in the Sun Belt during the 2023 season.

Before coming to A-State, Coomes spent the 2021 season at Jacksonville State, where she coached ASUN Setter of the Year Lexie Libs and helped guide the Gamecocks to a 25-7 record, the ASUN West Division title, and a berth in the conference tournament final. The team’s 25 victories were its most in a season since 2009.

A native of Owensboro, Ky., Coomes was a four-year setter at Radford (2017–21), helping the Highlanders reach the NCAA Tournament in 2017 and the NIVC in 2019, highlighted by the program’s first major postseason victory. She appeared in 91 career matches, totaling 658 assists, 493 digs, and 72 aces, before graduating in April 2021 with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics.
