LITTLE ROCK (9/23/07) ? Maggie Kimani captured sixth place and Brad Reach finished ninth overall to lead both Arkansas State's men's and women's cross country teams to fourth-place finishes in the UALR Invitational.
Kimani of Thika, Kenya, ran a time of 18:50.91 to pace all ASU runners in the women's division, while Reach of Marion, Ill., recorded a time of 27:05.85 to lead the men's group. As a team, the Indians scored 81 points behind Central Arkansas's 73 and Memphis 66. The host team, Arkansas-Little Rock, won the men's portion with 20 points. Lyon College was fifth with 115.
For the women, UALR won with 29 points followed by UCA's 51, Memphis's 62 for third and Arkansas State had 114. Missouri-Rolla and Lyon followed with respective scores of 124 and 148.
ASU's other finishers in the men's group include Henry Ndichu in 10th with 27:20.30, Nathan Mattox with 27:52.94 for 17th, Rob Gulliver was 24th with 28:46.38, Terell Pigram ran 29:12.46 for 27th, Chris Pickle came in 32nd with 30:01.10, Michael Miller ran 30.27:69 for 34th and Johnathan Martin's time of 34:02.01 was 37th.
For the women, Mary Edwards posted a time of 21:18.67 for 21st, Dawn L'Heureux was 26th with 22:00.08, Meghan Dean was 35th with a time of 24:03.43 and Mary Krug was 37th with 26:50.36.
