SAN DIEGO, Calif./SAN MARCOS, Texas (4/3/26) – Arkansas State track and field junior
Kiara Strayhorn highlighted the second day of action at the Bobcat Invitational by setting a new program record in the women's long jump while the Red Wolves' throwers opened action at the Triton Invitational on Friday.
BOBCAT INVITATIONAL
The Jefferson City, Missouri, native posted a distance of 6.43m (21-1.25) to finish fourth among 25 contestants. She surpassed Sharika Nelvis' program-best 6.40m (21-0.00) mark set at the 2013 Sun Belt Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
John Carswell claimed the highest finish of the day at second place after reaching a height of 5.25m (17-2.75) in the men's pole vault (Section A).
Jacob Dorrell and
Gavin Schaer reached 5.10m (16-8.75) in the event and tied for fifth.
On the women's side,
Carly Pujol registered a 4.05m (13-3.50) mark and secured a seventh-place finish.
TRITON INVITATIONAL
Jared Moore and
Omar Hussein highlighted the Red Wolves' first day at the Triton Invitational in San Diego. The former posted a distance of 52.66m (172-9.00) to set a new personal best and claimed third place while the latter finished at fifth with a distance of 51.40m (169-7.00) in his outdoor debut.
