JONESBORO, Ark.
(10/10/2011) — Following their performances in ASU's 24-14 Sun Belt Conference
victory Saturday at Louisiana-Monroe, Arkansas State senior wide receiver
Dwayne Frampton, senior safety Kelcie McCray and junior punter Ryan Wilbourn
have been honored by the College Football Performance Awards.
Frampton
(Wilmington, Calif.) earned honorable mention Wide Receiver of the Week honors,
McCray (Columbus, Ga.) earned honorable mention Defensive Back of the Week
honors and Wilbourn (Searcy, Ark.) was named honorable mention Punter of the
Week.
Frampton
set a new school record with 13 receptions in the Red Wolves 24-19 win at ULM
Saturday, for a career-high 147 yards and a touchdown. His 13 receptions are tied for the
fourth-most in the nation this season, and he is ranked 10th
nationally and tops in the Sun Belt with 7.83 receptions per game. He posted his third consecutive 100-yard
receiving game and also recorded at least 8 receptions for the third straight
game. Frampton took over 7th place for career receiving yards, finishing the
game with 1,344 to his credit, and moved into a tie for 6th place for
single-season receptions at ASU, finishing the game with 47 catches on the
season.
McCray recorded two interceptions
against ULM to help the Red Wolves improve to 2-0 in SBC play with the win over
the Warhawks. His two interceptions were
a career high and tied for the second-most in the nation this season. He returned his second pickoff 51 yards to
set up what proved to be the winning touchdown.
He also had a pass breakup in the game, a tackle-for-loss and six
tackles. Saturday was the fourth time this
season he has posted five or more tackles in a game, and he is second overall
on the team with 38 stops on the year.
Wilbourn punted four times against
the Warhawks for 189 yards, averaging 47.2 yards per kick with two downed
inside the ULM 20. Two of his four punts
covered more than 50 yards, including a 64-yarder in the fourth quarter that
pinned the Warhawks at their own 15 yard line.
The 64-yard punt was his longest of the season and the second-longest of
his career.
The Red
Wolves will return to action when they will host Florida International in a
nationally-televised Sun Belt Conference clash set for Oct. 18. Kickoff for the Tuesday night ESPN2 telecast
