JONESBORO, Ark. (7/14/2011) — Media will have
the opportunity to visit with each of the Sun Belt Conference's head football
coaches and select student-athletes when the league holds its annual SBC
Football Media Days July 18-19.
The conference is conducting its annual media days utilizing video
teleconference and webstreaming services for the third consecutive year, with
each coach and player available for a question-and-answer session.
Additionally, the Sun Belt Conference will provide supplementary on-screen
graphics for those watching on their computer screens. Members of the
media can expect enhancements to include notable statistical information,
upcoming schedules and team facts.
Media days will get underway at 9:55 a.m. both days with a welcome
and announcements from members of the Sun Belt Conference staff, then transition
to interviews at 10:00 a.m. Members of the media can watch online and
participate in the interviews over the phone.
First-year ASU head coach Hugh Freeze and senior offensive lineman
Tom Castilaw, who has already garnered several preseason All-SBC awards by
various publications and has been named to the 2011 Rimington Trophy watch list,
will represent the Red Wolves. Freeze
and Castilaw will be available to the media Tuesday, July 19 at 10:00 a.m.
In addition to Arkansas State, Tuesday's schedule includes
interview sessions with coaches and players from Louisiana-Lafayette, Florida
Atlantic and Troy. Bill Hancock,
Executive Director of the Bowl Championship Series, Jerry Silverstein, President
of the GoDaddy.com Bowl and Billy Ferrante, executive director of the R+L
Carriers New Orleans Bowl will be available as well. Sun Belt Conference Commissioner Wright
Waters will wrap up media days with a 12:10 p.m. interview session.
Monday's interview sessions will include representatives from Louisiana-Monroe,
Florida International, Middle Tennessee State, Western Kentucky and North
Texas.
The league will also announce its television schedule, preseason
all-conference team and preseason coaches poll via e-mail and on www.SunBeltSports.org at 8 a.m. (CT)
Monday, July 18.
The event is restricted to accredited members of the media.

Wolves open the season Sept. 3 at Illinois, with the home opener set for Sept.
10 against Memphis.
