JONESBORO, Ark. (9/7/11) – Beginning this week, Arkansas State fans are encouraged to take part in “Let ' Em Hear You Howl Friday's” by wearing red to school or work each Friday before a Red Wolves home game to show support for the ASU football team.

“We encourage all our fans to take part in this community event,” ASU Director of Athletics Dr. Dean Lee said. “The support we receive from the students and fans during each game is tremendous, and this is a way for them to show their support of the program during game week.”

“The environment on campus during game week is always exciting,” ASU Interim Chancellor Dr. Dan Howard said. “Wearing red before game day's will allow our fans and students to show their support and pride for Arkansas State in the classroom and in the workplace."

This year's football schedule includes six home games, including Saturday's game against Memphis. On Sept. 24 the Red Wolves will take on in-state opponent Central Arkansas followed by a game against Florida International on Oct. 18 on ESPN 2. On Oct. 29 A-State will take on North Texas for homecoming followed by Louisiana-Lafayette on Nov. 12. ASU will conclude its regular season on Dec. 3 against Troy.

“We are very thankful for everything that Arkansas State does for the community,” Jonesboro Mayor Harold Perrin said. “We want to show our support by wearing red on Friday's before home games and encouraging everyone in the community to do the same."

“We are excited about Let 'Em Hear You Howl Friday's and we hope this will be a great way for our fans to show their support during game week,” said ASU Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing and Promotions Gleen Hart. “We hope fans will take part in this event on each Friday before each home football game.”

Students are encouraged to wear red shirts to classes on "Let 'Em Here You Howl Friday's" in a show of pride and support across campus.

“Coach Freeze has energized the community since taking over as head football coach,” said ASU Associate Dean of Students Martha Spack. “The student community has pledged to wear red on Friday's before home football games this season to show support and pride for the football team.”
