JONESBORO, Ark. (2/24/15) – Arkansas State first-year head soccer coach Brian Dooley announced Tuesday that seven players have signed with the Red Wolves' women's soccer team to continue their collegiate careers.
Arkansas State's first recruiting class under Dooley consists entirely of high school players, four of which hail from the state of Missouri where Dooley served as an assistant coach for the Missouri Tigers' women's soccer team for the last two years. The class also features signees from the states of Texas, Illinois and Nevada.
“The team has been working extremely hard this spring and has successfully developed a high standard of effort,” Dooley said. “This group wants to be successful the right way. The culture they are growing will only allow our incoming players to add to the environment.”

HIGH SCHOOL: She finished her career with seven goals, 14 assists and was part of a defensive backline that helped account for 28 shutouts during her three-year high school career. Her team captured division championships in 2012 and 2013 and made the playoffs from 2012-14 during Andrea's time with the school. She also earned all-conference, all-area and all-sectional honors during her high school career.
CLUB TEAM: FC 1974 Libertyville went undefeated without conceding at the Showcase of the South Tournament in February of 2013 and then captured the Midwest Regional League championship the following fall. Her team finished ranked sixth in the state of Illinois through the fall of 2013 and into the spring season of 2014. Outside of soccer, Andrea has been an honor roll student in each of the last three years.
DOOLEY SAYS: "She is an outside defender with good pace who loves to get up the line and join the attack. She is able to create scoring chances through her crosses.”

HIGH SCHOOL: Helped her school reach the state semifinal in 2012, 2013 and 2014. This past season she scored eight goals and registered seven assists. Her club team, Louis Fusz Wipke, won state championships in 2011, 2013 and 2014 and also advanced to the finals in 2012 and 2015. Her team also reached the region finals in 2011.
DOOLEY SAYS: “Kassie is a midfielder with a tireless work ethic and a strong competitive desire. She brings a winning mentality having been a part of multiple state championships in the high school and club levels.”

HIGH SCHOOL: Was leading scorer at Cimarron-Memorial High School in each of the last two seasons where she combined to score 31 goals over the span. She finished her prep career with 39 foals and earned all-region, all-sunset, all-northwest and all-Nevada honors throughout high school.
DOOLEY SAYS: “She will add speed and athleticism to the attacking line. She has the ability to score goals and set up her teammates.”

HIGH SCHOOL: She was a team-captain, was a second-team all-district selection and named her district's Newcomer of the Year during her freshman season. She also scored five goals and had nine assists in four games during her district tournament this past season. Mbenque helped lead Cedar Hill to three top-3 finishes during her career, including runner-up trophies at the Forth Worth and Irving City tournaments. She also captured a club team national championship with Solar Soccer in 2014.
DOOLEY SAYS: “She is a versatile player showing the ability to score goals from an attacking midfield or a forward position. She is very active and can make penetrating runs with the ball.”

HIGH SCHOOL: She scored 62 goals and had 15 assists in three years of varsity soccer. As a freshman she scored 19 goals to go along with five assists and then added 23 scores and five assists as a sophomore. As a junior she scored 20 goals and had five assists and helped lead Zumwalt to the district playoffs in each of the last two seasons. She has received numerous accolades during her career, including three all-conference and all-conference academic honors. She was voted the team's offensive player of the year in each of the last two seasons and received All St. Louis Metro team honors as a junior.
CLUB TEAM: Was a member of the Saint Louis Scott Gallagher Elite team that finished sixth and fifth in 2013 and 2014 in the ECNL National Championships. The squad won the Missouri State Champions cup in 2011 and advanced in the ECNL Regional Winners division in 2013. She was recognizes as a Top Performers at a ECNL Phoenix National event in 2011 and was honored as a top performer by ESPN.com that same year. In addition to playing Soccer, Menke has a 4.2 GPA, is a member of the National Honor Society and has been on her High School Honor roll since 2012.
DOOLEY SAYS: "Cassidy is a physical presence on the front line. She can play with her back to goal adding a new dimension to the attack. She has scored over 62 goals in her first three seasons of high school soccer."

HIGH SCHOOL: She helped lead her team to a state championship this past season. As a four-year starter she earned all-conference awards in 2012 and 2013 after leading her team to the semifinals in each of those seasons and then earned all-state accolades as a senior in 2014. She finished her final year with a 23-1 record (.957 winning percentage), had a 0.39 goal against average, a .914 saves percentage and finished the year with 20 shutouts.
CLUB TEAM: She was a member of Lou Fusz club team and won state championships in 2010, 2012 and 2014. Her club was a Region II finalist in 2010 and captured the Disney Soccer Showcase in 2013. Lou Fusz also participated in the National League in 2011-12, the MRL Premier League from 2011-13 and has reached the Missouri State finals in each of the last five seasons with Ponder serving as the team's goalkeeper. In addition to soccer, Ponder was a four-year all-conference player in softball at St. Joseph Academy and earned the distinct honor of speaking at the International Marine Science Convention in Hawaii in 2014.
DOOLEY SAYS: “With multiple state and regional championships, she brings a great deal of big game experience with her. She has a courageous mentality and will compete for time immediately.”

CLUB TEAM: Her club team, St. Louis Scott Gallahger Elite, reached the finals of the 2011-12 ENCL U-15 B 9-16 Placement and finished as regular season champions in 2012-13 at the U-16 level.
DOOLEY SAYS: “She will compete for time in the central defense or maybe a defensive midfielder. With experience as a captain for her high school team, she brings a positive leadership style to our program.”
