MOBILE, Ala. (10/26/23) - A penalty kick goal by goalkeeper Olivia Luther gave the Arkansas State women's soccer team a 1-0 lead, but South Alabama scored three goals in less than four minutes to defeat the Red Wolves 3-1 in the season finale.

Emma Riley was tripped up in the box resulting in a penalty kick being awarded to the Red Wolves. For the second consecutive contest, A-State (4-8-4, 2-5-3) called upon Luther from the penalty spot. Luther put away the goal to give the Red Wolves a 1-0 advantage.

South Alabama (15-0-3, 8-0-2) equalized in the 70th minute and added two more goals in the next three minutes to lead 3-1.  The Jaguars finished with a 24-2 shots advantage, including 12-2 on goal.  Luther made six saves between the posts while Damaris Deschaine made three stops playing the final 11 minutes. South Alabama had 11 corner kicks in the match against two for A-State.
