MONROE, La. (11/3/23) – Freshmen Bailey Hall and Haley Glunz combined for 22 kills on Friday night, as the Arkansas State volleyball swept ULM 3-0 (25-12, 26-24, 25-17) inside Fant-Ewing Coliseum.
Hall led A-State (13-12, 3-10 SBC) with a career-high 12 kills and 10 digs, while Glunz hit a blistering .474 with 10 kills on 19 swings. The win marked the Red Wolves' 44th consecutive victory over the Warhawks (4-23, 0-13) in the all-time series.
The Scarlet and Black hit .229 on the night and limited ULM to a .054 clip, with Sarah Martinez collecting 23 digs. Kaitlin Whitlock added 14 digs while Mia Maloney tallied 10 digs.
A-State seized momentum in the opening set with a 12-0 run that turned a 9-7 lead in to 21-7. The hosts pulled within three, but Glunz clinched the 25-12 set victory with one of her six kills in the frame.
ULM took eight of the first 10 points of the second set before the Red Wolves later took an 18-15 lead following back-to-back attack errors. A kill by Tegan Seyring handed A-State a set-point opportunity, but an attack error on the next point forced extra points. Hall and Whitlock then gave A-State a two-set lead with back-to-back kills.
The Red Wolves owned a 15-10 lead at the third-set media timeout before the Warhawks trimmed the margin to three on a block by Ariana Brown and Logan Jeffus. A-State then widened the gap once more on a kill by Glunz that made it 22-16, and then closed the match with a 3-0 run.
