MONROE, La. (11/4/23) – Tegan Seyring led all players with 15 kills, but the Arkansas State volleyball team dropped a 3-1 decision (23-25, 25-23, 25-20, 19-25) at ULM Saturday inside Fant-Ewing Coliseum.

The Warhawks (5-23, 1-13 SBC) knocked down 15 blocks while the Red Wolves (13-13, 3-11) owned a 61-45 digs advantage.

Sarah Martinez tallied 20-plus digs for the second straight match, with 20, while Bailey Hall added 10. Martinez finished the weekend with 43 total digs, averaging 6.14 per set.

A-State took control midway through the opening set with a 6-1 run that made it 20-16. After the hosts pulled within a point at 23-22, a kill by Hall gave the Scarlet and Black a 1-0 lead in the match.

ULM scored the first four points of the second set, but the Red Wolves rallied to later tie it at 12-all on a kill by Seyring. The Warhawks then scored four-unanswered to retake the lead, which it would not surrender en route to tying the match at a set apiece.

The Red Wolves owned an early edge in the third frame, but ULM used a 4-0 stretch to take a 20-13 lead. After A-State pulled within three on a Bailey Helzer kill, the Warhawks scored back-to-back points to win the set 25-20 and lead 2-1 in the contest.

ULM opened the fourth set by taking eight unanswered and maintained that momentum en route to clinching the match with a 25-19 count, holding off a late push by the Red Wolves.

Arkansas State returns home to conclude its regular season next Friday and Saturday, Nov. 10-11, hosting Marshall inside First National Bank Arena.
