JONESBORO, Ark. (9/29/23) – Arkansas State volleyball could not slow down a strong Louisiana offense on Friday night, falling 3-0 inside First National Bank Arena.

A-State (11-4, 1-2) was limited to a .069 clip, while the Ragin' Cajuns (10-7, 1-2 SBC) hit .295 on the night. Kaitlin Whitlock led all players with 12 kills, while setter Erin Madigan registered a double-double with 22 assists and 10 digs to go along with a team-best three blocks.

The Red Wolves kept the opening set close early before the Cajuns surged ahead with a 12-3 run to lead 17-11. A kill by Bailey Helzer halted the scoring drought, but Louisiana took the set 25-11 by taking eight of the next nine points.

A strong start to the second set propelled A-State to an early 9-5 edge, but the visitors overcame the deficit with an 8-1 run to lead 13-10. The Red Wolves pulled within one on multiple occasions and saved a pair of set points, but Louisiana held off the comeback to take the frame 25-23 and lead 2-0 in the match.

After Helzer opened the third set with a kill, the Ragin' Cajuns quickly reclaimed a lead they would not relinquish en route to taking the match-clinching third set by a count of 25-18.
