A-State Records Fifth Draw of Season Against Louisiana, 0-0

JONESBORO, Ark. (10/17/24) – Arkansas State women's soccer (3-4-5, 0-3-3 SBC) set a new school record with five ties this season following a scoreless draw against Louisiana (6-3-8, 1-2-4 SBC) on Thursday afternoon at the A-State Soccer Complex.

The Ragin' Cajuns held a firm advantage in shots (22-5) and shots-on-goal (8-1) while claiming possession for 64 percent of the match. A-State last surrendered more than 20 shots in a contest during a scoreless tie against Georgia State in 2023.

Taylor Sweat recorded her first start of the season at goalkeeper, tallying a season-high eight saves. Five Red Wolves recorded a shot, but McKenzie Robinson had the lone shot on target.

Louisiana applied heavy pressure late in the match, taking six shots in the final 25 minutes of action. Their best chance to break the stalemate came in the 81st minute, but a diving save from Sweat negated the effort.

With five ties in the 2024 campaign, the Scarlet and Black surpass the previous record that was established in 2019 and matched in 2023.
