JONESBORO, Ark. (8/18/24) – Arkansas State women's soccer (2-0-0, 0-0-0 SBC) put together another strong defensive effort, downing Southern Indiana (0-1-0, 0-0-0 OVC) by a score of 3-0 on Sunday afternoon at the A-State Soccer Complex.
A-State outshot the Screaming Eagles 18-11 in the contest while their opponents held the advantage in saves (6-4).
Damaris Deschaine earned her second win of the season after recording three saves over 78 minutes.
Kennedy Horn scored on an assist from
Nicoline Hansen in the 25th minute to put the Scarlet and Black ahead 1-0. It would take just under 12 minutes for the Red Wolves to strike again as
Keelyn Peacock recorded her second goal in as many games.
Omamuzo Edafe scored on a penalty kick in the 62nd minute to make the score 3-0 as the Red Wolves cruised to victory.
A-State has failed to allow a goal over their first two exhibitions and regular season matches, outscoring opponents 11-0 during that span.
