JONESBORO, Ark. (8/20/24) – After opening the 2024 campaign with strong performances in a pair of shutout victories, Arkansas State soccer's Keelyn Peacock and Damaris Deschaine were named Sun Belt Conference Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week on Tuesday.
 
Peacock scored two goals on 10 shots in matchups against Little Rock and Southern Indiana to secure offensive honors.  She ranks 19th in the nation for total goals and 40th in the nation for total points through one week of action.
 
Deschaine earned defensive laurels after recording her first two wins of the season against the Trojans and Screaming Eagles. She tallied eight saves and a pair of clean sheets over 168 minutes of play, ranking 13th in the nation in the latter.
 
The Red Wolves swept conference Player of the Week awards for only the third time in program history. Taylor Schneider and Kelsey Ponder were named players of the week in October 2016, while Sarah Sodoma and Megan McClure were the last to achieve the feat in October 2020.
 
A-State returns to action on Sunday, August 25, for a matchup against Murray State at the A-State Soccer Complex with kickoff set for 1:00 p.m.
