RUSTON, La. (9/1/24) – Arkansas State women's soccer (2-1-1, 0-0-0 SBC) was locked in a stalemate at Louisiana Tech (2-1-3, 0-0-0 CUSA) before a second-half goal sealed a 1-0 defeat on Sunday afternoon at the Lady Techsters Soccer Complex.
 
The Red Wolves were outshot 17-8 and Louisiana Tech held a 6-3 advantage in corner kicks. Damaris Deschaine led both teams with six saves while Phoebe Harpole and Keelyn Peacock recorded two shots apiece.
 
Dakota Merino broke the scoreless stalemate in the 52nd minute with an unassisted goal for the Bulldogs. It was the first goal surrendered by A-State this season after keeping opponents off the board for the first 501 minutes of action.
 
The Scarlet and Black fired all five of their shot attempts in the second half during the final 10 minutes of action, but none would result in a score.
