JONESBORO, Ark. (10/2/25) – Arkansas State soccer (2-4-4) was unable to find an equalizer down the stretch in a 1-0 setback to Texas State (7-2-3) Thursday afternoon at the A-State Soccer Complex.
Â
The Red Wolves opened up the first fifteen minutes with a lively to-and-from with the Bobcats before settling in. Texas State was able to dig in after the first 25 minutes and prod the Red Wolf defense with a handful of shots before A-State gave a response on the opposite end. A last-minute free kick by
Riley Whisenhunt left a chance for the Red Wolves to enter half with the lead but the Bobcat defense felled any opportunity.
Â
Texas State grabbed the advantage out of halftime, planting the ball in the bottom-right corner of the net for the lead in the 48th minute. Â A-State held resolve with an offensive push of their own just after with
Lu Flores testing the opposing keeper with a shot on frame. A-State keeper
Damaris Deschaine registered four saves to keep the Red Wolves in play down the line, but A-State was unable to find the answer after 90 minutes.
