Pyeatt Shatters 5000-Meter Record Thursday

RALEIGH, N.C./SAN MARCOS, Texas/AUSTIN, Texas (3/27/25) – Jacob Pyeatt shattered his own school record on Thursday to highlight Arkansas State track and field's competition across three meets.

Pyeatt bested his previous program-best mark by nearly 30 seconds, clocking a time of 13:35.90 in a 13th-place finish at the Raleigh Relays.

In Texas, four A-State track and field athletes posted top-5 finishes in their respective events on Thursday to open competition at the Bobcat Invitational and the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays.

Two of those competitors – Menachem Chen and Nyima Williamson – won their events, taking first in the discus and long jump, respectively. Chen threw the implement a season-best 55.75m (182-11) in his event title, while Noa Isaia (45.72m/150-0) and Chris Boyd (39.65m/130-1) placed 14th and 18th. Williamson won the women's long jump in her A-State outdoor debut, jumping 5.64m (18-6).

Kamil Przybyla was runner-up in the men's 800 meters with a time of 1:50.74, and Brandon Williams placed 15th (1:53.90).

Camren Bailey placed fourth in the men's 100 meters with a time of 10.81, with Christopher Burge running 12.45.

Izzy Daines was eighth in the women's javelin, throwing 39.97m (131-1).At the Texas Relays, Josh Jones and Kenyon Parker ran in the first round of the 400-meter hurdles, placing 37th (55.54) and 39th (55.99).

In the women's discus, Liya Guy was 13th with a throw of 39.07m (128-2).

Competition continues Friday at the Bobcat Invitational as well as the Texas Relays, a portion of which will be streamed live on SEC Network+. Additionally, the Red Wolves will also be represented at the UAB Spring Invitational in Birmingham, Ala.
