AUSTIN, Texas/ SAN MARCOS, Texas/BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (3/29/25) – Arkansas State track and field capped a stellar record-setting weekend on Saturday with multiple event victories at a trio of meets.
Bradley Jelmert won the university elite section of the men's pole vault at the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays, clearing 5.55m (18-2.5), currently the top mark in the NCAA.
Chris Boyd placed third in the men's shot put at UT, throwing 17.87m (58-7.5) to move up to seventh in school history. Menachen Chen competed in the discus, throwing 53.94m (177-0) to place 10th.
In the hammer throw, Noa Isaia moved up to fifth in school history with a throw of 61.31m (201-1) to earn a ninth-place finish.
At the Bobcat Invitational, Colby Eddowes won the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 13.61. Will Glass placed 11th with a season-best 14.16, while Josh Jones (14.18) and Kenyon Parker (14.22) placed 13th and 16th.
Tyra Nabors was third in the 100-meter hurdles with a season-best time of 13.78.
Javarian Otey was eighth in the 100 meters at the Bobcat Invitational, running 10.35 to rank ninth in school history. Reneisha Andrews was 34th in the women's race with a time of 11.99.
At the UAB Invitational, Keniya Simpson was fourth in the 100 meters (12.18), with Hanyla Milligan (12.55) and Nyla Watson (12.58) carding career-best times. AJ Allen ran 12.66, placing 23rd. Simpson placed seventh in the women's 200 (24.89), while Kneila Watson (25.46) and Je'Breiya Chapman (25.80) both clocked career bests. Kneila Watson ran the 400 in 59.79, with Chapman turning in an outdoor-best mark of 58.83.
In the 200 meters at UAB, Mehki Hoo ran a career-best 21.81 in a ninth-place finish. He also placed third in the 400 meters (48.83) and Jeremiah Green was 12th (51.35).
Malena Cybak led four runners in the women's 1500 meters, placing fifth with a time of 4:49.32. Abbey Coberly (4:54.10) was seventh, while Abigail Tomberlin (5:00.22) and Nika Gividen (5:04.08) placed 14th and 17th. In the men's race, Aviel Gasko placed 10th (4:06.30) and Ian Horton (4:06.67) was 12th while Noah McMurtrey (4:17.11) and Andrew Mason (4:18.23) placed 23rd and 24th.
Ivanna Hargis placed sixth in the women's 5000 meters with a time of 18:52.38, while Zeke McCain was 15th in the men's race (16:20.28).
Ashley Guadamuz cleared 1.53m (5-0.25) in a sixth-place finish in the high jump. In the men's pole vault, Gavin Schaer and Jacob Dorrell tied for sixth, clearing 4.85m (15-11). John Carswell also cleared 4.85m, tying for ninth.
Brandi Echols placed 13th in the long jump at UAB, jumping 5.07m (16-7.75).
Jada Buggs placed 22nd in the women's 400 meters at the Bobcat Invitational, finishing in 56.24.
Malena Cybak placed fourth in the women's 800 meters, running 2:17.37, while Abbey Coberly finished 13th (2:24.00). Gabe Falting was fifth in the men's 800 meters at UAB, finishing in 1:56.56.
Hunter Kunkel placed eighth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:02.32.
