Red Wolves Travel to Birmingham for Josh Reidinger Invite

JONESBORO, Ark. (4/23/26) – With two meets remaining before the 2026 Sun Belt Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships, Arkansas State prepares for competition at the Josh Reidinger Classic on April 24 in Birmingham, Alabama.
 
The Red Wolves' first events will be the women's hammer throw and men's javelin throw at 11 a.m. Annika Wilbanks and Finja Dziobek will compete in the former while Robert York will lead A-State in the latter.

THREE THINGS TO NOTE:
CONFERENCE LEADERS: With only two meets remaining on the schedule before the 2026 Sun Belt Conference Outdoor Championships, four Red Wolves currently lead the league in an event. On the women's side, Carly Pujol leads all women's pole vaulters with a height of 4.21m (13-9.75). Kiara Strayhorn leads in the women's long jump with a distance of 6.43m (21-1.25) and Selase Sampram holds a conference-best 16.25m (53-3.75) shot put throw. Chris Boyd leads all throwers in the men's shot put with a distance of 18.81m (61-8.50) while Menachem Chen and Omar Hussein make up the remainder of the top three.
 
ALUMNI CLASSIC RECAP: Arkansas State track and field had an impressive showing at the Alumni Classic on April 17-18. The program won 16 of the 31 events held in the 2026 edition and 15 Red Wolves set new personal records. Chris Boyd and Menachem Chen highlighted the Scarlet and Black's performance with the third and fourth best shot put throws in program history. Boyd threw for a distance of 18.81m (61-8.50) while Chen posted an 18.76m (61-6.50) mark. Carly Pujol reached a height of 4.21m (13-9.75) to claim the women's pole vault event, while KG Ryan advanced to sixth all-time in the event with a height of 4.01m.
 
IN THE GOLDEN STATE: Arkansas State sent a group of distance runners to Azusa, California, for the Bryan Clay Invitational on April 16-18. Carlo Martinez-Jaramillo opened action with a personal best of 29:58.11 in the men's 10,000 meters to finish first. The time stands as the fifth fastest in A-State history. Parker Noffz posted two top 10 finishes in a standout weekend. The freshman clocked in at 14:38.92 to finish eighth in the men's 5000 meters at the Leopards Invitational hosted by the University of La Verne before placing fourth in the 1500 meters at the Bryan Clay Invitational with a time of 3:47.68. Both times are personal bests, and Noffz now holds A-State's eighth fastest outdoor time in the 1500 meters and the 10th fastest in the 5000 meters.
