Rogers Completes Roster with Final Additions of Benson and Frierson

JONESBORO, Ark. (5/18/26) – Arkansas State head coach Destinee Rogers rounds out her 2026-27 roster with Audreonia Benson and Jermesha Frierson.

Benson joins as a senior guard out of Trussville, Alabama. She spent last season at UCF, contributing in 16 games for 3.1 points per game on 48.8 percent shooting from the field. She totaled seven assists, three steals, and one block in 103 total minutes of action with the Knights. 

Prior to her season with UCF Benson played two seasons for Pensacola State College. As a freshman she earned first Team All-Panhandle honors and was named Panhandle Co-Freshman of the Year on 12.1 points per game, 3.4 rebounds a game, 2.0 steals and 1.6 assists. Her sophomore campaign included all 31 games, 18 of them as a starter, where she finished second on the team in scoring on 11.6 points and 2.7 rebounds a game.


Frierson, a Shreveport, Louisiana native, joins A-State after a season at Delaware State and two years at Northwestern State previously. She made 24 starts in 28 games played with a 9.0 points per game, 3.9 rebounds per game, 2.5 assists per game, and 2.0 steals per game last season for the Hornets.


In her previous tenure with Northwestern State she made 40 appearances and four starts averaging 9.5 minutes per game.
