JONESBORO, Ark. (6/15/26) – Five Arkansas State track and field athletes have declared for competition at the USATF U20 Outdoor Championships on June 18-19 at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.
Kercher Herring and Marcus Myhan will compete in the men's decathlon on both days and will begin with the men's 100 meters at 12:52 p.m. (CT) on June 18. In his first season of competition, Herring ranked 43rd nationally in the event with a point total of 7,172 points recorded at the Bryan Clay Multis on April 9.
Myhan signed with the Red Wolves out of Bentonville West in November 2025 and concluded his high school career with an Arkansas 6A state title in the decathlon six months later.
Joe Edwards is on the docket for the men's 800 meters first round set for 2:50 p.m. (CT) on the first day and can advance to the final round set for 7 p.m. (CT) on June 19. The freshman finished at fifth place in the event with a personal best time of 1:50.39 at the Sun Belt Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships on May 16.
The men's 1500 meters will feature one round, and
Parker Noffz is set to represent A-State in the event at 5:52 p.m. (CT) on the second day. He moved to seventh place on the Red Wolves' all-time outdoor top 10 list for the event following a 3:47.16 performance at the Outdoor Music City Challenge on May 1 and finished inside the top 10 among Sun Belt distance runners.
Fresh off an appearance at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships,
Omar Hussein will return to Hayward Field and compete in the men's shot put at 6 p.m. (CT) on June 19. The St. Louis native recorded a 17th-place finish at the event and earned an All-American Honorable Mention.
He punched his ticket to nationals with an 18.72m (61-5.00) shot put throw, good for 10th place at the NCAA West First Rounds.
