Box Score JONESBORO, Ark. (8/16/26) – Arkansas State (0-2-0) soccer battled from behind, with a late goal from
Kennedy Horn that threatened Little Rock (1-0-1) in the closing minutes, finalizing the 2-1 score Sunday evening at the A-State Soccer Complex.
Â
A game full of constant attacks, Little Rock found the advantage first in the 17th minute, with Little Rock putting four total shots on goal in the first half. The Trojans found a second goal at the 36-minute mark with a corner kick in to put it into position for the header. Both teams received a yellow card between the goals after an aggressive duel, UALR's Astrid With and A-State's
Kennedy Horn entering the books. The Red Wolves created multiple opportunities in the front half, totaling eight shots, and two on goal, including a transition play 10 minutes in with Horn beating the keeper, but unable to make the space for a clean shot.
Both squads kept up the pace and aggressiveness; Little Rock earning another yellow 11 minutes out of halftime. A-State volleyed another 10 shots in the second 45, seven needing a keeper to stop them, with only one of the Trojans' six second-half shots staying on target, requiring a leaping save from senior
Taylor Sweat. Nine minutes left in the game, a
Lu Flores corner was repelled at the goal line out to
Freya Sinclair outside the box, who rifled it off the crouching keeper just in front of Horn, who buried the rebound in to put A-State on the scoreboard. Little Rock held steady as the clock ticked, with late-game pressure leaving the Red Wolves missing the equalizer.
