Red Wolf E.D.G.E.

Red Wolf E.D.G.E. provides transformative, experiential learning opportunities that prepare Arkansas State University student-athletes for success both during their collegiate careers and life after sport.

Through life skills education, community service, career and professional development, leadership opportunities, and real-world experiences, we empower Red Wolves to grow as confident, well-rounded individuals prepared to thrive beyond sport.

Our mission is rooted in holistic student-athlete development: supporting the person behind the athlete and creating meaningful experiences that enhance the student-athlete journey. We are committed to helping every Red Wolf discover their strengths, build their network, develop their purpose, and gain the skills needed to succeed in life after sport.

In Red Wolf E.D.G.E., we believe the greatest impact of collegiate athletics extends far beyond the playing field. We’re preparing Red Wolves for life, leadership, careers, and lasting success.

Red Wolf Roadmap to Success

Held annually during the spring semester, this event connects Red Wolves with professionals from a variety of career fields while providing them with the opportunity to learn what they can do today to build toward their future. Attendees gain valuable networking experience, put professional development strategies learned through previous Red Wolf E.D.G.E. events into practice, and establish meaningful connections for internships and full-time employment.

Pack to Profession: Networking Mixer

Held annually during the fall semester, this event brings local professionals who are excelling in their chosen careers to Centennial Bank Stadium to educate student-athletes on the art of networking and the importance of building professional relationships. Several Red Wolf letterwinner alumni representing a variety of career fields are also invited back as professional guests to share valuable career insights, experiences, and advice in a way that student-athletes can easily relate to.

Interview Preparation

Student-athletes have the opportunity to meet with a member of the Career Development & Engagement Center through Handshake to prepare for upcoming employment interviews. Information is provided on how to effectively research a company, anticipate interview questions, highlight personal strengths, and ask meaningful questions. Strategies for professional interview follow-up are also discussed. Interview preparation meetings are strongly encouraged prior to any job interview, including part-time or full-time employment opportunities, as well as internships.

Graduate/Professional School Application

Recognizing that many student-athletes aspire to pursue graduate or professional programs, Red Wolf E.D.G.E. provides resources designed to best position Red Wolves for admission into the program of their choice. Graduate and professional school career nights are held periodically, connecting student-athletes with admissions staff and current graduate students who discuss admission requirements, application procedures, personal statement tips, timelines, and opportunities for financial aid.

Handshake (Job & Internship Database)

Red Wolf E.D.G.E. maintains a strong relationship with the Career Development & Engagement Center in Cooper Alumni Hall. Student-athletes are encouraged to utilize Handshake, a free resource available to all A-State students and alumni that connects them with employers and opportunities worldwide. Each student-athlete becomes familiar with this valuable resource through individual life coaching sessions throughout their time at A-State.
