HEARTBREAKER AT AUSTIN PEAY
• Arkansas State dropped its second straight game of the year with a 62-55 loss at Austin Peay on Nov. 16.
• A-State trailed by as many at 10 in the fourth, but the deficit down to 1 with 33 seconds to go after a 3-pointer by Fowler but could not take the lead.
• The loss ended an 8-game winning streak over the Governors for the Red Wolves.
• The 55-points by the Red Wolves also marked the first time since 2014-15 that A-State did not score at least 60 points at least once over a 2-game stretch.
FOWLER POWER
• Senior guard Brittany Fowler scored a carere-high 17 points in the Red Wolves loss at Austin Peay on Nov. 16.
• It was the second time in her career that she led the Red Wolves scoring and she also tied a career-high with five made 3-pointers.
BACK TO A VOLUNTEER STATE OF MIND
• Saturday's game against Tennessee State will mark the Red Wolves' sixth game in the state of Tennessee dating back to the 2014-15 season.
• The Red Wolves played Tennessee Tech, UT Martin and Chattanooga during the 2015-16 season and ended the 2014-15 season with a loss at Middle Tennessee in the WNIT.
• The Red Wolves are 2-3 in the state during that span, but are 3-3 against from the Volunteer state overall in the that time with a home victory over the Austin Peay last season.
HI MY NAME IS...
• Seven freshmen will put on an Arkansas State jersey this season, the most during the Brian Boyer era.
• The Red Wolves had six freshmen on the team during the 2000-01 season and has had as many as five freshmen on a team six times since then.
• Of the seven freshman, five are from the state of Arkansas, one from Tennessee and one from Oklahoma.
WE'RE GOING STREAKING
• A-State has won 25 straight games home games dating back to the 2013-14 season.
• It is now the longest home winning streak in school history.
• The streak is the 4th longest streak in the nation.
• During the streak A-State has outscored its opponents 1,590 to 1,236 and has a +16.1 average scoring margin.
• Additionally A-State has shot a blistering 45.3% from the field during the run, while holding opponents to 38.2%.
BLOCK PARTY
• Arkansas State's Lauren Bradshaw swatted 52 shot attempts last season, a total that ranks as the third most in a single season in school history.
• For her career she has ammassed 67 blocks, which is the ninth most in school history.
• As a team had 106 blocks, which is the sixth most in school history for a season.
STARING DOWN 300
• A-State head coach Brian Boyer is one victory from reaching career win No. 300.
• He would be the second coach in A-State history to reach 300 career victories while at the school (former men's coach John Brady reached 300 while at Arkansas State).
• He would be the first coach to win all 300 games while at Arkansas State
TOUGH ROAD AHEAD
• A-State's non-conference schedule features three teams ranked or receiving votes in the preseason USA Today Coaches poll.
• A-State will host No. 24 Florida at the Convocation Center on Nov. 22 and South Florida, who just missed being ranked in the top-25, on Dec. 11.
• A-State opens the regular season on Nov. 11 against Oklahoma State, who also received votes in the top-25 pole.
ANOTHER SCHOOL RECORD BITES THE DUST
• A-State broke the school record for most victories in a season with its 26 victory in an 81-61 victory over Appalachian State in the opening round of the SBC Tournament last year.
• The previous record of 25 happened twice during the 1991-92 and 1992-93 seasons.
• A-State has also broken the record for most wins in the regular season (25), longest winning streak (18), conference victories (19) and home winning streak (24) this season.
• The 19 wins in league play are the most ever in SBC history.
WINNERS IN THE CLASSROOM TOO
• A-State was awarded the Sun Belt Conferene Team Academic Award at last year SBC Tournament, marking the third time in the last four years that the Red Wolves have won the league's top academic honors.
• The Red Wolves had a team GPA of 3.17 and placed eight players on the SBC Academic Honor Roll and SBC Commissioner Lists.
SUN BELT CONFERENCE CHAMPIONS
• Arkansas State secured the outright regular season Sun Belt Conference championship with its 87-50 victory over Texas State on Feb. 25 of last season.
• It is the second time in the last three years that the Red Wolves have been the outright SBC champions. The one year they did not (2014-15) they finished second in the league.
• This is the third time that A-State has claimed the SBC regular season championship. The Red Wolves shared the title in 2003-04 and won it outright in 2013-14.
OH JUST ANOTHER 20-WIN SEASON
• Arkansas State has won 20 or more games for the third straight season, marking the first time that the Red Wolves have had three-straight seasons where it has 20 games in the regular season.
• It is just the fourth time in school history that the Red Wolves have won 20 games, doing so in each of the last two seasons and during the 1992-93 season.
• It is the 12th time in school history that A-State has won 20 games (postseason included) in a season.
THESE GIRLS ARE GOOD
• Over the last two season the A-State Women's Basketball and A-State Women's Vollyeball teams are a combined 44-3 in the Convocation Center.
• The volleyball squad went 8-2 in 2015 and a perfect 8-0 this past year.
• The basketball team went 14-1 during the 2014-15 season and is 14-0 this season.
• Neither lost a game at the Convo this season.
