JONESBORO, Ark. (1/16/20) – Looking to post another strong weekend, Arkansas State track and field is set for its third weekend of the season, this time in a pair of meets.
A large group of Red Wolves head down to Birmingham, Alabama, for the Samford Invitational, held at the Birmingham CrossPlex – the site of the Sun Belt Conference Indoor Championships. Another contingent will represent the Scarlet and Black at the Mizzou Intercollegiate, held at the Hearnes Center Fieldhouse in Columbia, Missouri.
Action in Birmingham begins at 10:30 a.m. with the women's long jump, with track events beginning at Noon with the 60m. The day concludes at approximately 4:10 p.m. with the women's and men's 4x400m relays.
In Missouri, the men's weight throw opens the day at 10:45 a.m., with track events scheduled to follow at 11:30 a.m. on a rolling schedule. A-State's first track event will be the women's 60m hurdles.
Two athletes, Grace Flowers and Osereme Erewele, return to action after earning Sun Belt Conference Athlete of the Week honors. Flowers will compete in the shot put and weight throw at Mizzou, while Erewele will run in the 60m and 200m while also competing in the long jump.
