JONESBORO, Ark. (4/28/21) – A Sun Belt Conference standout is set to join the Arkansas State women's basketball program in 2021-22, as head coach Matt Daniel announced the addition of graduate transfer Devyn Lowe.
Lowe signed with the Red Wolves after playing three seasons at Sun Belt Conference counterpart South Alabama and has two years of eligibility remaining. She was the conference's leader in three-point field goals made per game (2.0) and was third in the league in total treys made with a team-best 45. Lowe also finished third on the team in scoring in 2020-21, averaging 11.0 points per game for the Jaguars along with 2.9 rebounds.
"I have been able to watch Deyvn in our first two years in the league," Daniel said. "I am excited to be able to coach her tenaciousness and IQ up-close and now in a Red Wolf uniform. She averaged 11 points in our league a year ago and hurt us in the conference tournament with 16."
Hailing from Woodstock, Georgia, Lowe scored 20 or more points three times last season, including a team-best 24 at Appalachian State on January 16.
After redshirting her true freshman season in 2017-18, Lowe averaged 3.5 points in each of her first two years of action in 2018-19 and 2019-20 before improving drastically in her third season. She averaged 9.2 and 11.3 minutes played per game in her first two seasons, before playing 28.6 minutes per game in her third year and helping USA to a 13-13 mark.
She attended Wesleyan High School in Norcross, Georgia, as a freshman before playing her last three prep seasons at Woodstock High School. She helped the Wolverines to a 25-0 record in her sophomore campaign, swiping 111 steals and being named Region Player of the Year and Atlanta Journal-Constitution honorable mention All-Metro.
Lowe completed her bachelor's degree in nursing from South Alabama and is planning to pursue a master's degree in mass communications at A-State.
