BOSTON (12/2/23) – Arkansas State track and field's Jacob Pyeatt broke his own school record in the men's 5000 meters on Saturday at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener.
The Mountain Home native clocked a time of 14:14.63 in the seeded sections of the 5000 meters to end the day, edging his previous school-record of 14:15.50 set last season.
Dawson Mayberry and Rylan Brown kicked off the season in the unseeded portion of the men's 5000 meters, moving up the program's indoor top-10 in their first races of the season. Mayberry placed 12th with a time of 14:21.38 that moved him to third all-time, while Rylan Brown moved up to fifth with a time of 14:34.71 to place 26th.
In the women's 3000 meters, Rahel Broemmel recorded a time of 9:35.27, while Elizabeth Martin crossed the finish in 9:56.82.
