JONESBORO, Ark. (4/23/25) – After shattering his own school and conference records in the decathlon over the weekend, Arkansas State track and field standout Colby Eddowes was named this week's Sun Belt Conference Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week, the league office announced Wednesday.
Eddowes totaled 7,681 points in the two-day event at the Mt. SAC Relays, finishing as the No. 2 collegian. He recorded career-best marks in four of the 10 events en route to posting the top mark by an Australian this year. Wednesday's recognition marks Eddowes' third career weekly award and his second in an outdoor season.
The Canberra, Australia, native not only leads the Sun Belt in the decathlon, but also ranks seventh in the NCAA. His score was No. 2 among the USTFCCCA's Top-10 Marks of the Week list released Monday.
Eddowes is the third weekly honoree for the Red Wolves this outdoor season, joining Bradley Jelmert and Jacob Pyeatt who were honored on April 2.
