BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (1/16/25) – Arkansas State track and field claimed two event titles and 14 athletes established new personal records in the final day of the Samford Invitational on Friday at the Birmingham Crossplex.
 
Spencer Taylor finished third in the men's 200 meters with a time of 21.33, the third fastest time in the program's indoor history for the event. Egor Kniazev also moved into the indoor record book in his men's weight throw debut, registering a distance of 17.21m (5-5.75) to place 10th on A-State's all-time list.
 
Menachem Chen claimed his second men's shot put title of the 2025-26 indoor campaign with a distance of 17.42m (57-2.00). Finja Dziobek completed the Red Wolves' sweep of the event with a personal best of 13.92m (45-8.00) on the women's side, securing her first collegiate event title.
 
A-State concludes the weekend with the Samford Open on Jan. 17 at the Birmingham Crossplex.
